Privacy Policy

Celerati builds NFC business cards: a printed card and a digital card hosted at card.celerati.com. This policy explains what we collect when you open one of those cards or request your own, and what we do with it.
It is written against what the system actually does. If something is not listed here, we do not collect it.
What we collect when you open a card
Opening a business card does not require an account and does not ask you for anything. We do record that the visit happened, so the business can know its card is being used:
- An anonymous browser identifier, stored in a cookie named 305_v for one year. It is a random number, not a name: it only tells us whether a visit is new or a return.
- Approximate location — city, region, country and time zone — derived from the network address. Never a precise position.
- The network address, the browser's user agent string, and the page you arrived from, if any.
- Which link brought you: an NFC tap, a QR scan, or a shared link.
- Which parts of the card you used: whether you pressed call, WhatsApp, directions, saved the contact, or opened the gallery.
What we collect when you give it to us
Two forms ask for your details, and both are optional. Nobody has to fill them in to use a card.
- Saving a contact: after the card is saved to your phone, you may leave your name, a phone number or email, and a short note. This goes to the business whose card you opened.
- Requesting a card at card.celerati.com: your name, business, phone, email and what your business does. This one comes to us.
Why we keep it
- So the business can answer someone who showed interest.
- So the business knows whether its card is being used, and how.
- To reply to you if you asked us for a card.
How long we keep it
Visit records are deleted automatically after 12 months. This is not a promise held by hand: the database applies it on its own.
Contact details you leave are kept until the business no longer needs them, or until you ask us to delete them.
Who else is involved
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for advertising. It passes through these providers because the service cannot work otherwise:
- Amazon Web Services — hosting and delivery of the pages, in the United States.
- MongoDB Atlas — the database.
- Amazon SES — the email that tells a business someone left their details.
- Google Fonts — typefaces, loaded from Google servers.
- Google Places — only on cards that display live reviews or opening hours, to read that business's own public listing.
Cookies
One cookie: 305_v, the anonymous visit identifier described above, which lasts one year. There are no advertising or tracking cookies from third parties. Deleting it from your browser removes it, and the card keeps working.
Children
This service is for businesses. It is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Your rights
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Write to us and we will do it. If your details reached a business through its card, that business holds its own copy, and you can ask them directly as well.
